Girls Incorporated of Jacksonville

Mission
Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.

Vision
We envision a community where each girl can reach her greatest potential.

With roots dating to 1864, national status since 1945 and a local presence in Jacksonville since 1970 (formally known as the Girls Club), Girls Inc. is a national nonprofit youth organization that delivers programs through a network of 1,500 program sites throughout the United States and Canada. These sites include schools, community centers and 73 Girls Inc. affiliate member organizations. Nationally, Girls Inc. reaches over 800,000 girls through affiliates, the website and educational publications.

Philosophy
Girls Inc. inspires all girls to be strong, smart and bold through life-changing programs and experiences that help girls navigate gender, economic and social barriers. Research-based curricula, delivered by trained, mentoring professionals in a positive all-girl environment equip girls to achieve academically; lead healthy and physically active lives; manage money; navigate media messages; and discover an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. The network of local Girls Inc. nonprofit organizations serves 125,000 girls ages 5-18 annually across the United States and Canada.

About the Daddy Daughter Dance
This annual event celebrates the powerful bond between a father and daughter as well as other positive male role models in young girl’s lives. These bonds can make a positive and lasting impact on girls as they grow into healthy, confident and secure women. Girls who are healthy, educated, and are able to live independently and be economically self-sufficient and self-sustaining throughout their lives!
